Turns out the freezing and buffering issues are most likely caused by issues with the Sling TV server or problems with internet and Wi-Fi connectivity. Therefore, if Sling is not disabled and you are receiving streams in excess of 1.0 Mbps, you should have no problem with your stream. Now, occasional freezes or buffering will still occur from time to time, but restarting Sling should fix temporary streaming glitches. Close the Sling app and restart it.
